BEIJING, Aug. 23 (UPI) -- Matthew Mitcham of Australia won the Olympic gold medal Saturday in men's platform diving.

SAVE MONEY ON TRAVEL DEALS

Zhou Luxin of China took the silver and Gleb Galperin of Russia the bronze.

A specatcular final dive by Mitcham allowed him to pass Zhou and prevent China from capturing all eight of the Olympic events in the sport.
