| TEMPE, Ariz., June 14 (UPI) -- A new tennis court in Arizona is partially composed of old sneakers, making the court a little spongy, which designers say is easier on players' knees. SAVE MONEY ON TRAVEL DEALS The Arizona Republic reported Saturday that the tennis courts at Tempe's Kiwanis Park Recreation Center were recently resurfaced by Rebound Ace. The company uses ground-up athletic shoes donated through Nike's Reuse-A-Shoe program to create cushioned tennis courts. The newspaper said it takes about 2,500 shoes to cover one outdoor tennis court. "It's better for the knees, especially for older players", Adam Williams of Rebound Ace said of the special tennis courts. - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - Related News Topics:
