ANAHEIM, Calif., May 17 (UPI) -- Joe Saunders returned to his winning form Friday, allowing five hits in 7 1/3 innings and boosting the Los Angeles Angels past the Los Angeles Dodgers 4-2.

SAVE MONEY ON TRAVEL DEALS

The game marked the return to an American League stadium for Dodgers Manager Joe Torre, who in 12 years as skipper of the New York Yankees guided that team to the majors' best record in inter-league play -- 113-79.

Saunders (7-1) bounced back from his first loss of the season, limiting the Dodgers to two runs. Francisco Rodriguez worked the ninth for his 17th save.

Hiroki Kuroda (1-3) took the loss after recording four straight no-decisions. He gave up four runs on seven hits in 6 1/3.

Only one of the Angels' runs came on a base hit. Casey Kotchman scored in the fourth when Erick Aybar struck out and still reached base on a wild pitch. Vladimir Guerrero delivered a run in the fifth with a sacrifice fly and his fielder's choice grounder in the seventh brought in another score.
