NEW YORK, May 21 (UPI) -- Alex Rodriguez hit one home run and was deprived of another Wednesday in helping the New York Yankees roll over Baltimore 8-0.

SAVE MONEY ON TRAVEL DEALS

New York won for just the second time in eight games thanks to a 13-hit barrage that made an easy winner out of Darrell Rasner.

Rasner (3-0) allowed five hits and struck out six while working seven innings. Joba Chamberlain finished off the shutout.

Rodriguez hit a solo homer in the third and replays showed he hit the ball over the right-centerfield wall in the sixth. The ball caromed off a set of yellow stairs beyond the fence and bounced back on the field, but the umpires ruled it hit the wall and Rodriguez had to settle for a run-scoring double.

Johnny Damon also drove in two runs for the Yankees. Shortstop Derek Jeter, who suffered a bruised wrist when he was hit by a pitch in Tuesday's game, returned and produced an RBI.

Garrett Olson (3-1) took the loss, giving up a season-worst six runs on eight hits in 2 2/3 innings.
