STARKVILLE, Miss., Oct. 11 (UPI) -- Anthony Dixon rushed for 102 yards and Tyson Lee threw a TD pass Saturday to lead the Mississippi State Bulldogs to a 17-14 win over 14th-ranked Vanderbilt.

Lee was 12-of-22 passing for just 92 yards and Christian Ducre had eight carries for 41 yards and a TD for the Bulldogs (2-4, 1-2 SEC), who snapped a three-game losing streak. Brandon McRae led Mississippi State receivers with five catches for 39 yards.

Mackenzi Adams was just 5-for-9 with 47 yards and a late-game interception and Chris Nickson was 3- for-9 with 15 yards, an interception and a rushing touchdown for the Commodores (5-1, 3-1), who went into the game with their highest ranking in 52 years.

The Bulldogs went ahead 10-7 midway through the third period on a Lee to Brandon Henderson pass. They widened their lead to 17-7 early in the final period after De'Mon Glanton returned an interception to the Vanderbilt 7 yard line.
