CHICAGO, Oct. 13 (UPI) -- Rich Peverley and J.P. Dumont each scored in a shootout Monday to give the Nashville Predators a 3-2 victory over the Chicago Blackhawks.

Peverley and Dumont made it a short 2-0 shootout for Nashville, as each drove his shot through the legs of Chicago goaltender Cristobal Huet. Chicago's Patrick Kane and Martin Havlat were each unable to get the puck by the Nashville's' Dan Ellis.

Shea Weber and Kevin Klein each scored for the Predators. Ellis made 23 saves to earn the victory.

Havlat and Patrick Sharp scored goals for the Blackhawks, who have yet to win after three games this season. Huet stopped 25-of-27 shots in regulation but went 0-for-2 in the shootout.
