CHICAGO, May 21 (UPI) -- Jermaine Dye hit two home runs and Jim Thome added one Wednesday, helping the Chicago White Sox overcome an early deficit to defeat Cleveland 7-2.

Cleveland trailed by two going into its half of the sixth inning, but Dye hit a three-run homer to put the Indians in front and they added two more in the frame.

Dye and Thome both hit solo shots in the seventh to bring an end to Cleveland's five-game losing streak.

Chicago had won a season-best seven in a row.

Javier Vazquez (5-3) held on for seven innings to get the win, allowing two runs on four hits.

Paul Byrd (2-4) suffered the loss, surrendering five runs on five hits in 5 1/3.
