TORONTO, Sept. 5 (UPI) -- Two home runs from Alex Rios Friday and a seven-inning effort by Roy Halladay boosted the Toronto Blue Jays to a 6-4 victory over Tampa Bay.

The Rays went into the game with a 3 -game lead over Boston at the top of the AL East, but lost for the third time in four games.

Toronto won its sixth in a row, its longest winning streak in four years. Halladay (18-9) allowed three runs, only one of which was earned, on seven hits and struck out seven.

B.J. Ryan allowed a run on two hits in the ninth, but picked up his 27th save.

Rios hit a solo homer in the third and then delivered a two-run shot in the eighth to give the Blue Jays a three-run cushion.

The loss went to Andy Sonnanstine (13-7), who surrendered four runs on five hits in six innings. He had won his previous three decisions.

Toronto committed two errors, ending the longest errorless streak in franchise history at 15 games.
