| BLACKSBURG, Va., May 16 (UPI) -- The Norfolk (Va.) Virginian Pilot reported that Virginia Tech football recruit Peter Rose faces felony drug charges after a 10-month police investigation. SAVE MONEY ON TRAVEL DEALS In a report by deputies in the Amherst County, Va. sheriff's office, Rose, 18, was arrested for allegedly selling marijuana to a deputy posing as a high school student. He and six current and former students face two charges of distribution of marijuana -- a misdemeanor -- and two felony charges of distribution of drugs within 1,000 feet of a school. "This morning's news was as much a shock to me as anybody", Rose's former coach, Scott Abell, told the newspaper. Rose accepted a football scholarship to Virginia Tech in February. He led his high school to Virginia's Group AA state championship last fall with 1,133 passing yards and 1,790 yards rushing.
