LONDON, July 3 (UPI) -- A British dentist known for singing to his patients as he worked has signed a $2 million, four-album deal with Sony BMG.

SAVE MONEY ON TRAVEL DEALS

The Daily Telegraph said Andrew Bain's debut album is due out in September.

"I'll miss the patients but I won't miss the drill", the dentist-turned-recording artist told the newspaper. "I've been lucky to have very understanding bosses and patients who didn't mind if I took time off here and there to do (an amateur opera or perform in the chorus line of a West End) show. I've tried to keep the singing and the dentistry separate, mostly. Some patients ask me to sing after finding out what I do. But more nervous patients don't want to hear about it -- they'd much rather believe that I read dentistry text books in my spare time."

The Telegraph said Bain plans to continue working at a north London dental office for the next three months because his appointment book is full until September. After that, he will be a full-time recording artist.

"I've enjoyed working in the (National Health Service.) I'm not leaving because I hate dentistry, I'm leaving because I love singing", Bain said. "This is the ultimate dream come true."
