| LAKENHEATH, England, June 27 (UPI) -- The United States has removed its last remaining nuclear arms from a Royal Air Force base in England, weapons experts said. SAVE MONEY ON TRAVEL DEALS Reports from weapons experts indicate U.S. President George W. Bush called for the last 110 free-fall nuclear bombs to be withdrawn from RAF Lakenheath in Suffolk, England, the Daily Mail reported Thursday. Information regarding the removal came in a report by the Federation of American Scientists, an organization put together by U.S. physics experts during the Cold War. Author Hans Kristensen, a top U.S. arms expert, said there is some ambiguity regarding when the remaining weapons were withdrawn from Lakenheath. U.S. Air Force records from January 2007 suggest a number of emergency drills are "not applicable to Lakenheath", the newspaper said. - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - Related News Topics:
