WASHINGTON, Sept. 29 (UPI) -- The U.S. space agency says it is updating its National Aviation Operations Monitoring Service to add more pilot survey responses.

SAVE MONEY ON TRAVEL DEALS

The National Aeronautics and Space Administration said the data files on the Web site are essentially the same files posted during late 2007 and early 2008. However, the files are packaged differently and contain fewer redactions than the original postings.

Therefore, officials said, they provide more information from the NAOMS aviation safety surveys. The surveys were conducted 2001-04.

"This release, in Microsoft Excel format, fulfills NASA's commitment to provide as much information as possible without compromising the anonymity and confidentiality promised to survey participants or the commercial confidentiality of the airlines and organizations involved", NASA said in a statement. "It also ensures that aviation safety researchers and the public have access to additional information that may be used to develop future models for safety systems to monitor the National Airspace System."

NASA said it has no plans to post any additional NAOMS information after Tuesday.

Additional information and the survey responses from the

NAOMS project are available at
