BOSTON, May 16 (UPI) -- The Federal Aviation Administration told Boston officials that a planned 1,000-foot tower could cause an obstruction to aircraft.

SAVE MONEY ON TRAVEL DEALS

Boston Mayor Thomas Menino said the tower plans are "stalled because of the FAA issue on height", The Boston Globe reported Friday.

The FAA expressed fears the skyscraper would cause difficulties for plans aborting landings at Logan Airport and being forced to fly over downtown Boston at low altitudes.

"We are working with the city and the appropriate agencies within the FAA to address these issues", said Trans National Properties, the firm of the developer who proposed the 75-story glass tower, Steve Belkin. "In the meantime, we are continuing with our plans to fulfill the mayor's vision to build an iconic tower, which will be the most sustainable 'green' skyscraper in Boston."
