Putin said while meeting with Ukrainian Prime Minister Yulia Tymoshenko in Moscow that his country was ready to discuss economic issues with the Cabinet of Ukraine, RIA Novosti reported.

"As we have agreed with you during our meeting in Minsk, we will hold today a working meeting dedicated to economic issues", Putin said.

Tymoshenko, who met with Putin in late May, said cooperation between cabinets of ministers in both countries has been improving and focusing on a specific course of economic action.

The diplomatic pair previously discussed the sale of Russian gas supplies to Ukraine and is expected to discuss similar matters such as transport, space and nuclear energy during Tymoshenko's visit to Moscow.
