KIEV, Ukraine, Oct. 15 (UPI) -- Elections in Ukraine, set for Dec. 7, have been postponed indefinitely in order to benefit the majority of the country's political parties, a top official says.

SAVE MONEY ON TRAVEL DEALS

Ukrainian Voters Committee Speaker Oleksandr Chernenko said the electoral delay will even benefit those who helped initiate the December elections as it will create additional time for political negotiations, the Ukrainian Web Site ForUm said Wednesday.

"While the date of the elections is postponed, everybody will work in the regime of election campaign, agitating and holding negotiations concerning composition of participation in the elections", Chernenko said.

Chernenko added that the elections may be rescheduled for late January or early February, ForUm reported.

Meanwhile, Ukrainian Prime Minister Yulia Tymoshenko said from Brussels that she is intent on having talks to help deal with the rising economic crisis in Ukraine and the world.
