ALGIERS, Algeria, Sept. 12 (UPI) -- An Italian multinational oil company has agreed to acquire all common shares of First Calgary Petroleum and increasing its stake in Algeria's energy sector.

SAVE MONEY ON TRAVEL DEALS

The acquisition will increase Eni S.p.A.'s reserves in Algeria by about 190,000 barrels of oil equivalent within its Algerian portfolio, Med Basin News Line reported. Production start-up was expected in 2011.

First Calgary has a 75 percent interest in Ledjmet, which located in Algeria. Med Basin reported. Ledjmet contains several fields and total resources in excess of 1.3 billion barrels of oil equivalent, half of which is natural gas.
