TORONTO, Oct. 9 (UPI) -- The Canadian government has ordered another U.S. war deserter and his family to leave the country by the end of the month, border officials said.

SAVE MONEY ON TRAVEL DEALS

Former U.S. Army Sgt. Patrick Hart, his wife Jill and 6-year-old son had a news conference Wednesday in Toronto to announce they would appeal the Canadian Border Service Agency order, the Toronto Sun reported.

Hart, 34, of Buffalo, N.Y., spent nine years in the Army in Bosnia and Kuwait before deserting the 101st Airborne Division in Fort Campbell, Ky., in August, 2005, the report said. That same year, the family fled to Canada.

Hart told reporters he heard horrifying stories from fellow soldiers about their treatment of Iraqis when he was deployed to Kuwait.

"It was stuff that made me disgusted to be an American soldier", Hart said.

Earlier this year, deserters Corey Glass and Jeremy Hinzman were ordered deported, although a federal court stayed their orders until it decides whether to grant them an appeal.

In July, deserter Robin Long was deported and arrested when he crossed the border.
