| PATNA, India, Aug. 27 (UPI) -- At least 55 people have been killed by flooding on the Kosi River in northern India, authorities said Wednesday. SAVE MONEY ON TRAVEL DEALS The floods spread across new areas in the province of Bihar, the Press Trust of India reported. Bad weather grounded relief helicopters. About 2 million people have been forced to evacuate or are struggling in flooded areas without telephones or electricity, CNN reported. One woman, who gave her name as Ruby, said she had been unable to get medical help for her baby. "My child is so ill. I cannot do a thing about it. I wonder what I did wrong that my child must suffer", she told CNN'S Indian partner, IBN. The flooding began last week when the Kosi shifted course into a channel the river flowed through 200 years ago, PTI said. Bihar on India's northern border is mostly flat.
