| MELBOURNE, Aug. 30 (UPI) -- A group of hikers in the mountains of Papua New Guinea found what appeared to be the remains of a World War II flyer hanging by a harness in the jungle. SAVE MONEY ON TRAVEL DEALS The skeletal remains covered in moss were visible from the Kokoda Trail, David Collins, a guide with No-Roads, a trekking company in Melbourne, told the Melbourne Herald-Sun. "It wasn't until the wind blew that you could really see it is in a harness, there are goggles and it appears to be caught up in cables, so presumably it is an airman", Collins said. Collins notified U.S., Australian and Japanese authorities of his discovery. The Australian Defense Force said that during World War II a route used by Allied planes passed over the area. - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - Related News Topics:
