Khan maintains he has not violated international law. He further alleges that he has been betrayed and made a scapegoat since he made the confession in the larger interest of the country.

"I think the confession was my mistake", Khan told DawnNews TV channel Thursday.

"I was assured that I would be a free man and be allowed to go anywhere I want", said Khan, who is under virtual house arrest. The scientist made his first post-charges public appearance on May 21 when he visited the Academy of Sciences amid tight security.
