KABUL, Afghanistan, June 8 (UPI) -- The body of an Afghan journalist was found Sunday, a day after he was reported abducted, his employer, the BBC, reported.

SAVE MONEY ON TRAVEL DEALS

Abdul Samad Rohani's body was found in Lashkar Gah. He had been shot, the British network said.

The BBC said the death of Rohani, who had been working in Helmand province in southern Afghanistan, was "a terrible loss." The network said his "courage and dedication have been a key part of the BBC's reporting from Afghanistan in recent years."

It was the second death of a BBC journalist during the weekend. The network said gunmen in Kismayo, Somalia, Saturday killed Nasteh Dahir, who worked for the BBC and the Associated Press.
