WOODCLIFF LAKE, N.J., Aug. 14 (UPI) -- BMW of North America said it was recalling 200,000 model year 2004-2006 vehicles due to a problems with the passenger-side air bag sensors.

SAVE MONEY ON TRAVEL DEALS

The company said affected owners of 2006 3-Series, 2004-2006 5-Series and 2004-2006 X3 vehicles may continue to drive their vehicles. "However, customers should contact their BMW Center if the air bag warning light and the passenger air bag 'on-off' lamp are illuminated simultaneously", the company said.

The recall was announced Wednesday and came about due to problems in the passenger side air bag sensor that develop "depending upon the manner and frequency of the front passenger's entry and exit", the company said. The recall also is dependent "upon seat type", BMW said.

No injuries have been reported, the company said.
