At a town hall meeting in Lima, Ohio, McCain accused Obama, D-Ill., of misrepresenting the Arizona senator's position, noting he voted against President Bush's energy bill because it contained $2.8 billion "in corporate welfare to Big Oil companies" while Obama voted in favor of it.

"Senator Obama might be a little bit confused", McCain said. "Yesterday he accused me of having President Bush's policies on energy. That's odd, because he voted for the president's energy bill, and I voted against it.

"I know he hasn't been in the Senate that long. But even in the real world, voting for something means you support it, and voting against something means you oppose it."

McCain said to solve our energy problems, we need to embrace everything -- solar, wind, nuclear and gasoline alternatives.

"We owe it to our kids and families in America because those who are suffering the most are the lowest income Americans", McCain said. "I believe we can do it. And that will reduce -- when we eliminate our dependence on foreign oil, we don't care what the Saudis charge because we'll be in charge of our own."
