POLL: Your Opinion

 » What Do You Think

WASHINGTON, July 17 (UPI) -- The Barack Obama campaign says it plans 20 more Virginia offices in a vigorous drive in a state deemed largely overlooked in recent U.S. presidential elections.

SAVE MONEY ON TRAVEL DEALS

The presumed Democratic presidential nominee will have offices in nearly every medium-size city in the state by Saturday, The Washington Post said Thursday. Some of the areas covered are in areas that "may have never had a presidential campaign before."

It was described as a "bottom-up, not a top-down campaign."

There are plans for two offices in vote-rich Fairfax County and one each in Woodbridge and Winchester to reach voters in the Washington region's fast-growing outer suburbs, the Post said.

Many will be in traditional Republican strongholds, such as Harrisonburg in the Shenandoah Valley and Lynchburg in southern Virginia, the campaign said.
