SANAA, Yemen, March 21 (UPI) -- Talks continued Friday between Palestinian factions Hamas and Fatah despite disagreements, al-Alam said.

SAVE MONEY ON TRAVEL DEALS

The apparent sticking point in the Sanaa, Yemen, meeting was the proposal for Hamas to give up its hold on the Gaza Strip. Fatah is reportedly agreeable to that idea but Hamas is against it, the television news network said.

The Yemeni proposal calls for a return of the strip to the way it was before Hamas took over and for new Palestinian elections, al-Aram said.

The factions stayed over an extra day Friday for what was called reconciliation talks.
