BEIRUT, Lebanon, Aug. 23 (UPI) -- "Iraq Star" winner Bassam Abdul Mehdi took time in Beirut, Lebanon, as he released his first single to thank those who supported him on the TV competition.

SAVE MONEY ON TRAVEL DEALS

The singer, who won the third season of the popular Iraqi TV series, was at a Virgin Megastore in the Lebanese capital to release the single "Thahab Kalamak Thahab", Alsumaria said Saturday.

The video for the new music single is directed by Walid Melki, while the words of poet Karim Al Iraqi were used in the song's lyrics.

Regular and celebrity fans alike came out to support the release of Mehdi's song and the "Star" winner said he was happy he could share the rare moment with his fans.

The musician also took time to thank his family in Iraq for their supportive efforts and promised to add a song about his native land in his next album, Alsumaria reported.
