A statement issued by the Turkish army say jet bombers hit a cave occupied by members of the group, also known as the PKK, the BBC reported.

The Turkish military did not report on casualties, the BBC said.

The PKK, using bases in remote northern Iraq, is campaigning for self-rule in southeastern Turkey where the ethnic group is in the majority.
