BAGHDAD, Aug. 5 (UPI) -- Six Iraqis were wounded in two Baghdad bombings Tuesday, military sources say.

SAVE MONEY ON TRAVEL DEALS

One of the bombings targeted a motorized convoy assembled for Iraqi Education Minister Khudhair Khazaie as it traveled along Palestine Street, KUNA, the Kuwait news agency, reported. Four people, including two ministry bodyguards, were injured in the blast but it was unclear whether Khazaie was in the convoy, sources said.

A second blast happened near Baghdad's Medical City Complex in northern part of the city, KUNA reported. Two civilians were injured in the explosion.

Also, U.S. military officials reported a drive-by shooting in the Sheik Umar neighborhood of eastern Baghdad, saying "special group criminals", a term frequently used to refer to members of militant Shiite Mehdi Army, opened fire on the new Baghdad police station.

In a statement, military officials said the vehicle was fired on by Iraqi police and flipped over, resulting in the death of Mehdi Army member and two others being wounded.
