BEIRUT, Lebanon, Aug. 1 (UPI) -- A Hezbollah leader say the terrorist organization has have a sufficient military arsenal to respond if Israel initiates an attack.

"The resistance is now stronger than before and this keeps the option of war awake. If we were weak, Israel would not hesitate to start another war", Sheik Nabil Kaouk, leader of Hezbollah forces on the Lebanese-Israeli border, told London's Daily Telegraph.

"We are stronger than before and when Hezbollah is strong, our strength stops Israel from starting a new war", he told the British newspaper. "We don't seek war but we must be ready."

Sources said Hezbollah has tripled its missile supply from 10,000 to 30,000 missiles, which are said to have a longer range and heavier warheads, the newspaper said.

Kaouk said said a strike could be called as a response if Iranian facilities were attacked.

He didn't deny that Hezbollah relied on Iran for military equipment and support.

"We are proud of our friendship with Iran and with Syria and every country that helps us to gain our rights", he said.

When asked about the origin of the weaponry, Kaouk told the Daily Telegraph, "All parties in Lebanon are getting weapons. No one asks from where."
