ANKARA, Turkey, April 17 (UPI) -- Turkish officials say they have not given up on getting their national oil company on the list of companies qualified to bid on Iraqi oil development.

SAVE MONEY ON TRAVEL DEALS

The Iraq Oil Ministry published a list naming 35 companies -- out of 120 that had applied -- qualified to bid to develop new oil fields, The New Anatolian reported Thursday.

Turkey's TPAO was not on the list, published Monday, which included petroleum giants such as ExxonMobile Corp., Shell, BP, and Chevron.

The Iraqi government wants to increase daily output from 2.4 million barrels to 6 million barrels, the report said.

Turkish Energy Minister Hilmi Guler said the two governments are talking and "the list is not definite" yet.

"There is certainly a list and we will enter this list", Guler said.
