| BEIRUT, Lebanon, Aug. 5 (UPI) -- A Lebanese newspaper says United Nations peacekeeping troops have developed a contingency plan to recover Israeli warplanes shot down by Hezbollah. SAVE MONEY ON TRAVEL DEALS The report in the Lebanese daily al-Akhbar came as Israelis were becoming nervous about new guidelines issued in Beirut allowing Hezbollah to take action against the Israeli occupation of the Shaba Farms area independently of the central government, Haaretz, an Israeli newspaper, reported Tuesday. Haaretz said the Lebanese newspaper account quoted a contingency plan reportedly distributed to members of the United Nations Interim Force in Lebanon (UNIFIL) which instructs troops to reach the pilot first, and if the pilot is captured by armed militants, they must rescue him or her. But, if the pilot is captured by the Lebanese army, nothing is to be done, Haaretz said. - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - Related News Topics:
