| ISLAMABAD, Pakistan, June 7 (UPI) -- The government of Pakistan has asked the United Nations to investigate the assassination of former Prime Minister Benazir Bhutto. SAVE MONEY ON TRAVEL DEALS U.N. Ambassador Munir Akram made a formal request Friday during a meeting with Secretary-General Ban Ki-moon, Dawn TV reported. Bhutto, who narrowly escaped death soon after her return to Pakistan, died in December in an attack that used both a bomb and guns. The Pakistan People's Party, her political group, has been calling for a U.N. investigation since the assassination. President Pervez Musharraf asked the London Metropolitan Police, Britain's famed Scotland Yard, to assist in the investigation.
